On the intelligence course, you gain 9 tools and 7 skills, invaluable knowledge from expert ORSC facilitators, a group of potential future colleagues, and new friends.
ORSC Intelligence, like all the ORSC modules, is consciously and intentionally designed to take participants on a journey. You will experience exercises as both the coach, and the “coachee”. Intelligence will push your limits and challenge your mindset. For many of our participants, this course is the most challenging and thought-provoking module of the series.
ORSC Intelligence Tools & Skills
You will gain the following 9 tools and 7 skills on the Intelligence course:
Tools
- Change theory: ground conditions for change – understanding the 4 ground conditions that need to be met before successful change
- Change model – primary, secondary and edge – a model illustrating the process of change in a system
- Working with double signals – a tool that brings awareness to behaviours that contradict each other
- Working with Realm – working with a client when they are in a state of “internal collapse” and are unable to cope
- Deep Democracy process – a tool to help bring each “voice” and “feeling” to the surface, helping a system be self-aware and resolve issues
- Force Field Analysis – a tool used to weigh up a difficult decision based on system values
- Appreciation loop – a tool used to invite a system to reflect on the positive qualities of each member
- Who you are and who you are not – appreciating the full range of human qualities
- Partner as a dream door – tool for teams and partners to shift perspective on the relationship and dream into the system’s potential future
- Original partnership and myth exercise – an exercise that enables a system to reconnect to where they “began”, and connecting the essence of the relationship
Skills
- Signals and edge theory as an operating system – how systems operate in the face of change and turbulence
- Signals, double signals and channels
- Primary/secondary edge behaviours – confronting the unknown
- Unfolding – following and expressing the information embedded in signals in a non-judgemental way:
- Amplification – drawing attention to a behaviour to reveal it to a system
- Blank access question – open ended questions to encourage the unfolding process
- Channel switching – systems don’t just communicate with words! Exploring how a client is expressing themselves, through the wider range of sensory signals
- Unfolding double edges – for pairs and teams – uncovering a system process that’s trying to emerge
You will have the opportunity to learn and practice these tools and skills with the other participants – both experiencing them as the coach, and the coachee.
